Indoor Air Comfort Certification - IAC 

Indoor air quality in a building or any indoor environment is fundamental to health and well-being and is determined by many factors, including the construction materials used. 
Sensitivity to this issue is increasingly relevant, with the consequent demand for building products that are not harmful to the health of users and end users, whose requirements have been defined by EU Regulation 2011/305 - Construction Products.

Specifically, the regulation refers to VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), chemical substances responsible for polluting indoor spaces, often odourless or colourless, with the ability to evaporate in the air at room temperature. Higher concentrations of VOCs are also found in the period following the installation of building materials, not only in indoor air but also in domestic water and on indoor surfaces.
Not all VOCs are harmful, but some can be toxic or carcinogenic. For this reason, it is a good idea to use materials that do not contain harmful substances, both for the health of the end users and of the workers on the construction site who handle and install these materials.

Certification by the independent international body Eurofins is the tool that determines and guarantees a product's compliance with the low VOC emission parameters established by European Community regulations. 

It provides for two levels of certification
- Standard certification "Indoor Air Comfort - certified product": conformity of the product's emissions to the values established by the legislation of the European Union and its member states.

- Higher level certification "Indoor Air Comfort GOLD - certified product": this qualification demonstrates, in addition to the conformity of emissions to European legislation, voluntary adherence to the strictest environmental certification protocols established by eco-labels and European and national authorities, and therefore the lowest emission values in Europe.

In order to guarantee safety and healthy environments, CBI Europe has initiated the verification of its products, obtaining Indoor Air Comfort GOLD certification for his PT38 Soft Covering Double Alufoil panel, in the Raised Access Floors category.

The product's compliance with the requirements for sustainable buildings defined by the environmental protocols contributes to the score for obtaining LEED v4 and BREEAM international
