Biovet JSC _ Peshtera _ Bulgaria

Biovet JSC, the leading company of Europe in the Pharmaceutical Industry Sector, combines tradition and research.
The modernization of the production plant in the town of Peshtera and the Administration’s needs became materialized in a contemporary building design, inspired by modern vision, which expresses High Technology and innovative spirit.
 
The Project was assigned through a competition, which required the combination of the best construction practices and modern technologies in line with the surroundings and sophisticated necessities, which were needed for production.
 
Architecture:
A simple and orthogonal structure, with excellent functional distribution of each floor, expresses an iconic silhouette of both the company and the city where it’s sited.
The façade incorporates the design concept of the geometric network, inspired by the hexagonal structure of the benzene nucleus of the aromatic hydrocarbons, a key element for organic chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
An innovative system of outdoor lighting lightens the perception of volume, creating an almost sculptural effect.
Particular attention was given to the surrounding area, in line with the current trends of a European structure.
 
Distribution:
The building has six floors, with the first two dominated by an impressive entrance.
A staircase - inserted in the glass structure – leads to the floors, which house meeting rooms, transit areas and administrative areas, so visitors have an immediate access.
Four floors dedicated to offices; the last one was separated as a multifunctional conference block, with modular dividers that allow the reorganization of spaces depending on events scheduled.
 
Energy efficiency technologies:
High-tech solutions of façade elements and windows provide excellent thermo-technical parameters.
Central air-conditioning, with the latest green technology, creates the correct microclimate in working areas. The thermal values ​​of the building are monitored by temperature sensors and light connected to a control system, with the ability to create preset adjustable lighting scenes according to the requirements.
The illumination of the building has been created with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) of the last generation, with high lighting parameters and extraordinary potential for energy efficiency.
 
Interiors and workspaces:
Modular glass partitions define the spaces intended for offices, and allow the reorganization of the premises when necessary. Particular attention was dedicated to the research of the comfort and livability of the environments: CBI Europe’s wall and ceiling systems were required for specific performance of sound absorption, combined with the versatility of customizing the size and finish.
 
The project was selected for the National Competition 'Building of the Year 2016', the most prestigious event in the field of investment activities, buildings and architecture of Bulgaria, held under the patronage of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, of associations in the field of architecture and construction, and of the professional registers of Builders, Engineers and Architects in Bulgaria.
