An architectural jewel signed by the "starchitect" Kengo Kuma
The New Padua Convention Center is located in the northern sector of the Padua Fairgrounds. Designed by renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, it can accommodate a total of 3,500 people.
The project represents a concrete example of layered architecture, combining the Japanese technique of "spatial layering", which consists in overlapping elements with different levels of permeability, while maintaining the Padua tradition of intermediate spaces.
The two founding cores of the project, the Amphitheater and the Great Hall, are incorporated in a sequence of spaces that mediate their relationship with the outside. The large windows at the top give the central gallery a unique luminous effect.
